I find it almost inconceivable that there are people out there who did not see these tooltips and think to themselves, "Wow, what a great addition to the game."

Edit: That said, obviously stuff like how you toggle between them, how obvious it is that there ARE more stat-based tooltips available, etc. are very valid discussion points. po wow But for a new player, these tooltips don't just tell you how to play the game. They also tell you that there IS a game to be played other than just hitting what your most powerful ability is at any given time. They describe the interplay between various abilities, which is pretty much the most fun part of combat, so getting that right out there for a player to see immediately is fantastic. And the ability progression redesign actually makes it possible for there to be ability interactions right off the bat
